Watch Movies Online Without Downloading

Try as some might, there is no legal or free way to watch current, in-theater movies online. You are going to have to pay someone if you want to do this legally. During 2010 a web site called Watch Movies Online For Free was up and sharing movies.  A great site. These were movies currently in the theaters. This was their web site: http://www.movies-links.tv  It was a well built site, but it did not last long.  In just a few short months, this is what happened to the site:

Getting a domain seized has got to be a bad day.  But it happens to sites that are sharing movies online and not paying the producers and copyright holders. This is BIG business, so what else would you expect?

The trend is to deliver and share more audio and video content over the web. That is not going away. It would be great if the movie producers got ahead of this and started allowing movies to be watched over a home PC. They could insert advertising, maybe even collect email addresses for follow-up marketing. And charge a small fee.

How much does it cost to buy a DVD movie? A few bucks. How much does it cost to rip it to a digital version that can be shared online? Almost free. So why don't movie exec's get ahead of this and license more content for distribution and viewing over the net at a reasonable price to viewers? It's coming, and it's going to be pushed by P2P sites and more sites like the seized web site noted above.

It's a war of sorts. Content wants to be distributed over the net. There are many people who want to watch new movies online. PC's are powerful, cheap and ubiquitous. They can show these movies now.  Millions of people own computers with all the power and features required to watch video online.

Adult movies everywhere on the net prove that video can be successfuly delivered online, on demand.  The technology to distribute and view high quality movies on demand over the internet is here. When will it be used to enable all of us to watch what we want, when we want?

The sooner in-theater movies can be watched over the internet the better. We all want to watch full movies online. It's so easy, so cool, so convenient. And you don't have to sit in a theater with a bunch of loud or obnoxious people.
